Ter Bleuk - Bonheiden

Description

In January 2014, Willemen started building 52 assisted living units in four housing blocks to replace the current Ter Bleuk senior citizens home in Bonheiden.

The housing blocks are each two storeys high with complete basements, and are interconnected by an underground passageway connected to a central service building. Each housing block has six to eight assisted living units per floor and a meeting room on each corridor. All areas are wheelchair and lift-accessible. The central multipurpose block will feature a brasserie, meeting room, physiotherapy room and gym, a spa, a laundry room and a consultation room. This building will also be fitted with a green roof.

The building work is being undertaken in two phases. Phase one consists of the central block and three residential blocks into which the nursing home residents will move. Phase two involves the demolition of the existing building and the construction of the fourth housing block.

Willemen Construct came into being on 1 July 2018 as a result of the merger between Willemen General Contractor and the construction department of Kumpen.
