Bredabaan - Merksem

Description

Bredabaan in Merksem was reconstructed from Minister Delbekelaan to Molenlei in 2013. Bredabaan is now a pedestrian shopping street with 2 vehicle lanes, bicycle paths and footpaths, a new tram infrastructure, parking strips and a new Burgemeester Jozef Nolfplein.
Aannemingen Van Wellen not only took care of the construction of a tramway in reinforced concrete, a vehicle lane in 3-layer asphalt, a bicycle path in red asphalt and a footpath in granite tiles, it also carried out the drainage works. The works involved thrust boring in long sections and trench shoring using secant piles. The construction of a tram track with a pre-assembled rail system was another challenge that we were able to rise to at Aannemingen Van Wellen.

Willemen Infra is a leading, Belgian road construction company with a regional presence in both Flanders and Wallonia. An important asset is that we have all aspects of the construction process under our own management and thus fully control the execution. Moreover, our team of 1,000 well-trained and experienced employees are willing to work at night and over the weekend to make sure they get everything done in time. In addition, thanks to our own COPRO-certified production and recycling sites, we are one of the leading producers for asphalt and road concrete.
