Description

Commissioned by the Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV), Franki Construct will build a cycle bridge and an ecoduct over the Boslaan (N75), near the Sparrendal recreation area in Lanklaar. This should allow cyclists, pedestrians and animals to move safely between the nature areas of the Hoge Kempen National Park that the Boslaan currently cuts through. The cycle bridge also fits into Dilsen-Stokkem's cycling plans. The project is done in cooperation with the Agency for Nature and Forests, the Department of Environment, the Department of Mobility and Public Works, the Regional Landscape Kempen & Maasland, the city of Dilsen-Stokkem & VAPEO (Vlaams Actieprogramma Ecologische Ontsnippering).

The cycle bridge will be 245 metres long and 5 metres wide in total, with a spacious cycle path of 3 metres. The span over Boslaan is 34 metres with a height of 6 metres above the carriageway. The bridge has 2 approach ramps on either side of Boslaan. On the south side, the ramp runs roughly parallel to the existing Hoeveweg. On the north side, it connects to Sparrendal via a loop around the Dilserbos car park. The gradient will be calculated so that cyclists can easily and comfortably overcome the differences in height. A handrail will be installed on both sides of the bridge.

Since 1998 Franki Construct has been part of Willemen Groep, the largest family construction group in Belgium.
